Founded by veterans after the First World War, the Royal British Legion supports service men and women, veterans and their families in almost every aspect of their life. They also advocate Remembrance, paying respect to those who have served in the forces and champion the nation to treasure the memory of the people who gave their lives for our freedom.

2018 marks 100 years since the end of the First World War, once known as the war to end all wars. Some say a ‘new world’ began.

The Royal British Legion are leading the nation in saying ‘Thank you’ to all of those who have served, sacrificed and changed our world.

As part of the ongoing offering, The Royal British Legion support current serving personnel and their families. Funds raised go towards personal recovery centres, and ‘battle back’ facilities, which are designed to help those recovering from an injury and help people to move forward with their lives. They support their families too, for those who have lost a loved one because of a bereavement, an inquest can be a daunting, distressing process. The legion can support families through this complicated procedure in what is a difficult and painful time.

The Legion prides itself on offering lifelong support, providing veterans with the care they need throughout later life. This includes ex service care homes, medical funds and household adaptations. Ensuring beneficiaries live in comfort and dignity.

The money raised by Paddle of Britain will be funded directly to The Royal British Legion. Your money will help transform lives and say ‘Thank you’ to our service men and women, past and present.
